Description:
Vertical Toe Touches are exercises that activate the abdominal system. This exercise is multifunctional – serving as an active stretch specifically in the glute and hamstring region, while also strengthening the core. In order to maximize the benefits of this exercise, continue to develop flexibility in the pike position. Avoid bending knees if possible.
Process:
- lie on back and bend at the hips to lift both legs until they are perpendicular with the floor
- extend both arms towards the ceiling
- without moving the legs, engage core to lift shoulder and shoulder blades off the floor and try to touch the toes
- avoid bending knees
