High Knees in Place

High Knees in Place is essentially running in place while keeping the knees at hip height.  This is an exercise commonly used by runners.  High knees can be used by itself to increase speed, dynamic power, and flexibility, or as an effective exercise in your warm-up routine to increase your heart rate.

  • begin jogging in place and drive knee until they are at least parallel to the ground
  • incorporate dynamic arm swings during movement as if running
