Front Support Drag

Description:

A Front Support Drag is an exercise that not only activates the core, but also engages the glutes and hamstrings.  This exercise is commonly utilized by gymnasts to develop the muscles required to perform  pommel horse/mushroom circles but can be an effective multifunctional exercise that develops multiple muscle groups at once.  A slidable object is required for this exercise.

Process:

  • place slidable object under heels
  • lift body up into a front support so that the body is only supported on hands and heels
  • engage core and squeeze glutes and hamstring
  • body should be either straight or in a slightly arched position
  • without breaking body position, move forward or backwards by moving hands
