L-Hold on Rings

Description:

The technique used for L-Holds on Rings is virtually the same as performing them on parallel bars or parallettes.  The only difference is that the instability of the rings will give your upper body and core an added challenge.  For best results, keep rings turned and parallel to the body and ensure that you are not resting on the straps.  To scale, perform L-holds on the parallel bars.

Process:

  • begin in a support position on the rings
  • engage core and ensure that rings are turned out and parallel with the body
  • without rounding the back, bend body at the hips and elevate legs until they are 90 degrees
  • legs should remain straight and head in a neutral position
