Legs Together Planche on Parallel Bars

Video coming soon

Description:

A Legs Together Planche on Parallel Bars takes the straddle planche position to the next level.  By maintaining a straight leg position, you increase the amount of weight you must hold up.  However, with proper progression and emphasis on core strengthening, this skill can be had.  Similar to other forms of planches, utilize your body as a lever and lean the body forward until you find the optimal balance position.  Strengthening this balance point will be key to learning this position.  To scale, perform a straddled planche.

Process:

  • begin in a support position
  • hands should be shoulder width apart with arms locked out
  • engage core and lean forward and slightly pike the hips to elevate lower half of body
  • when upper body becomes parallel with the ground, allow lower extremity to rise and extend hip angle until body forms a straight line
  • lean forward to find the optimal balance point and hold
