Log Rolls

Description:

Log Rolls are core exercises that require a sound understanding of arch hold and hollow hold positions.  This exercise is multifunctional in that it activates the entire core system, as well as the upper back.  The goal for this exercise is to never allow your feet nor arms to touch the ground.

Process:

  • lie on back with arms extended overhead
  • palms should face the ceiling and back of hands touching the floor
  • legs should be together and core engaged
  • lift hands and feet few inches off the floor to get into a hollow position
  • head position should be in line with the arms
  • without allowing legs and arms to touch the ground, gently rock over to one side of the body until body completely turns over to an arch hold position
  • continue rolling towards the same direction to finish in a hollow hold position
  • switch directions after desired rep
