Description:
A Shoulder Stand on Rings is a static hold position that should be mastered before progressing into a handstand on the rings. This position is designed to build the strength and understanding of holding a position while upside down. For best results, maintain core tightness, and spot the ground without overly jutting the head.
Process:
- begin in a support position on the rings with core engaged
- bend body at the hips at a 90 degree angle, and simultaneously bend elbows so that the shoulders dip forward and down
- once upside down, slowly straighten out hip angle until body is straight
- keep rings as close to the chest as possible and activate core
- wrap legs around straps for extra support
