Slide Out to Hollow Hold

Description:

A Slide Out to Hollow Hold is a core exercise that requires outstanding postural control through the recruitment of the major midsection and upper body muscles.  The way to increase difficulty is by decreasing the amount of space between your midsection and the floor.  When performing this exercise, focus on maintaining a tight core and avoid the lower back from sagging (the small of the back should form a rounded position).

Process:

  • begin in a standard pushup position
  • engage core and slowly walk hands out as far as possible without breaking body alignment
  • hold at a manageable position and ensure that hollow position is maintained
