Spiderman Pushups

Description:

Spiderman Pushups are upper body exercises, which place particular emphasis on the core muscles.  Because of the unique movement of this exercise, the body is forced to work extra to maintain balance, thereby engaging the core more than a standard pushup.  As is the case with any form of pushup, ensure that a tight body position is maintained throughout the entire movement.

 

Process:

  • begin in a standard pushup position
  • ensure that shoulders are stacked over the elbows and hands
  • bend elbows to lower body
  • simultaneously, bend and swing one of the legs outward so that it touches the elbow on the same side
  • extend elbows and straighten knees to return to original position
  • a tight body position should be maintained at all times
