Tuck Jumps

Description:

Tuck Jump is a basic plyometric exercise that improves explosive strength and agility.  In order to maximize the benefits of this exercise, drive knees toward the chest as much as possible at the pinnacle of the jump and avoid landing flat-footed.  Doing so will help maintain good rhythm between each jump.

Process:

  • begin in a stand with core engaged
  • jump straight up and flex lower abs to drive knees towards the chest
  • land with toes/balls of feet and rapidly repeat jump (refrain from landing with flat feet to avoid injury to knees and ankles)
