Tuck Scoots

Description:

Tuck Scoots are multifunctional exercises that develop abdominal strength while also targeting the upper arm and shoulder muscles.  Some athletes will opt to create momentum by first extending their knees and then tucking in as they move forward.  However, if you want to increase the difficulty, try to maintain a tight tucked position during the entire movement.  Additionally, challenge yourself by pushing the body out as far as possible with each movement.

 

Process:

  • begin in a seated position with knees tucked towards chest
  • hands should be to the side of body
  • lift feet off the ground by bringing knees closer to the body and tightening the tuck
  • engage abs and push/propel body forward by opening up shoulder angle
  • avoid letting feet touch the ground
