Tucked Front Lever on Rings

Video coming soon

Description:

A Tucked Front Lever on Rings is generally utilized as a progression skill for a front lever.  By bending the knees and keeping them as close to the chest as possible, you decrease the amount of weight you must lift, thereby making the position easier to hold.  In order to maximize the benefit of this exercise, maintain a straight back as you hold the position.  Solidify this position before moving onto a front lever hold.

Process:

  • begin in a hang position on the rings
  • bend body at the hips and lift both legs over head to settle into an inverted hang position
  • bend knees to transition into an inverted tuck position
  • activate core and tighten the lats, and ensure that palms are facing away from you
  • slowly lower your body forward by opening up shoulder angle (stomach should face the ceiling)
  • lock into position when body becomes parallel with the ground
