Wall Sit

Description:

Wall Sit is a traditional leg strengthening exercise that can be performed anywhere a solid wall can be found. This exercise develops isometric strength and endurance in the quads, glutes, and calves.  For an added challenge, try to push heels off the ground and stand on your toes when settled into position.

 

Process:

  • stand against a wall with core engaged
  • feet should be shoulder width apart and about two feet in front of wall
  • slowly lower body while keeping back against the wall until thighs are parallel to the ground
  • adjust feet so that knees are directly above ankles
