Wide Arm Pushups

Description:

Wide Arm Pushup is a variation of a standard pushup, and is designed to develop superior upper body strength.  The wide arm stance helps to specifically target the pectoral region.  Similar to any form of pushup, ensure that a tight body core is maintained throughout the entire movement.  Scale by performing standard pushups.

Process:

  • begin in a standard pushup position
  • widen hands so that they are beyond shoulder width
  • engage core and bend elbows to lower body until chest hits the ground or comes close to it
  • push up until arms are fully extended and finish back in the starting position
  • a tight body position should be maintained at all times
