Description:
A Seated Pike with a Slight Straddle is a stretch position that emphasizes flexibility in the hamstring. The straddle position will not be as wide as it would be for a pancake. Play with the angle of the straddle to feel a different type/degree of stretch. Focus on straightening the back before leaning towards the ground and try to maintain this straight position even at the bottom of the stretch.
Process:
- sit down with legs slightly split (<90 degrees)
- keep legs straight, toes pointed, and knees directed towards the ceiling
- straighten back and lean forward as far as possible without rounding chest
