Front Lunge Stretch

Description:

The Front Lunge Stretch is a classic stretching exercise that improves mobility in the lower extremity.  This stretch can also relieve tension in the hip flexors.  To maximize the benefit of this stretch, avoid letting the hips from rolling and ensure that the hips remain square (pointed straight out).

 

Process:

  • begin with one leg in the front and the other in the rear
  • slowly bend the forward knee while keeping the rear leg straight to allow body to descend
  • ensure that the hips remain straight and pointed forward
