Avoid pulling in a quick and jerky fashion as this may cause straining. The pulling action should be slow and gradual. Bend sideways at the waist for an added stretch in the lats.
Process:
- begin in a stand
- bend one arm overhead and grab the elbow with the other hand
- slowly pull the bent arm towards the head
- add a little side bend in the waist away from the bent elbow for extra stretch
- switch sides
