Description:
Ring Pushups are exercises that activate your upper body and core muscles. Similar to standard pushups, ensure that the lower back remains straight and that the head stays in a neutral position. A set of low rings is required for this exercise – otherwise a block can be used to make sure that the feet are at the same height as the hands. Scale by performing standard pushups on the floor.
Process:
- begin in a plank position on the rings
- engage core and ensure that shoulders are stacked over the elbows and hands
- while maintaining a straight back and neutral head position, bend elbows to descend the body
- continue to descend body until chest is in line with the middle of the rings
- maintain a tight core and extend elbows by pushing down on the rings and return to starting position
